The latest decisions made by Donald Trump, culminating in the way the “Epic Fury” operation is conducted, are even criticized by John Bolton, one of his former security advisors.

The operation “Epic Furry” is causing reactions among political analysts around the world, and in many cases, the reactions are not positive. This is also the case for John Bolton, a well-known American diplomat, former National Security Advisor (2018–2019) under Donald Trump’s presidency, and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (2005–2006) under George W. Bush. Although he is generally known as a “hawk” of foreign policy (hardliner), often supporting aggressive positions and regime change in countries such as Iran, North Korea, or Venezuela, Bolton criticizes Trump’s action in one of the most followed podcasts in the U.S. – The Trump Report.

He perceives a certain lack of firmness on Trump’s part and does not hesitate to criticize this aspect. John Bolton believes that Donald Trump should give the green light to much more aggressive actions and that he hesitates unnecessarily, in the hope that the Iranians will yield.

“You know, he extended the deadline for intensifying attacks on the energy infrastructure until April 6, to give a chance to Iran-US negotiations, which he says are taking place, but which have not taken place in person. They could start today. We are only on the 2nd (editor’s note – the date of this podcast’s creation). There are a few days left. But certainly, you will not get an agreement by exchanging postcards through intermediaries. So, we should say that the short-term prospects at this point are that we will intensify the attacks and that the war will continue for another two or three weeks. As he said, I think the markets have read it the same way. That’s why oil has risen and stocks have fallen this morning,” Bolton said.

Changing the regime in Tehran, mandatory

On this occasion, the former presidential advisor analyzed Trump’s speech about the war with Iran, and an initial criticism came because, the expert claims, the regime change in Tehran, now denied by the Americans, would be the only solution. His main argument is that the simple destruction of nuclear equipment is not enough. This is because, he says, Iranian scientists can rebuild the nuclear program at any time.
