Participants in the invasion of Ukraine will begin to teach in schools in the Novosibirsk region a new discipline titled “Basics of Security and Defense of the Homeland” (BSAP), which includes modules of basic military training. The announcement was made by the press service of the regional government. These are the so-called “heroes of the special military operation”, who have undergone a professional retraining program at the Institute for the Improvement and Retraining of Teaching Staff in Novosibirsk, within the “Rehabilitation Certificate” program.
The diplomas of the first series of “veterans” were handed over on January 20 by the Minister of Education of the region, Maria Jafiarova. In addition to teaching activities, these former combatants will also have the task of ensuring security in schools, “taking into account terrorist and extremist risks”.
According to government documents consulted by “RIA Novosti”, within the BSAP students will be trained to assemble and pilot drones, and classrooms will be equipped with Kalashnikov automatic rifle models and Makarov pistols, training grenades, electronic shooting ranges, sapper shovels, night vision devices and military radio stations. Tourniquets for stopping bleeding, resuscitation mannequins, gas masks and complete military protection kits (OZK) will also be introduced in the classes.
