After the New Year, the cost of cremation services in Russia has sharply increased, the average price rising by about 20,000 rubles (approximately 220 euros), writes the publication Baza. Representatives of major crematoriums explained that the main cause is the increase in utility rates.

Thus, electricity for legal entities has become more expensive by 8–12%, and gas for communal needs — by 7–10%. Additional pressure on prices was exerted by the shortage of parts for imported furnaces and the increase in costs for mandatory gas purification systems, against the backdrop of increased demand.

The largest increases were recorded in Moscow and the Moscow region, where rates have increased by 20,000–45,000 rubles (approximately 220–495 euros). For example, at the Nikolo-Arhanghelsk crematorium in Balashikha, the standard package (service plus urn) now costs 80,000–85,000 rubles (approximately 880–935 euros), compared to 45,000–50,000 rubles (approximately 495–550 euros) in the autumn of 2025.

At the Hovansk crematorium, prices have increased by 8,000–10,000 rubles (approximately 88–110 euros) in a single quarter. Increases were also recorded in regions: in Novosibirsk, the cost of the service has increased on average by 17,000 rubles (approximately 187 euros), in Murmansk — by 15,000 rubles (approximately 165 euros), and in Ekaterinburg — by 1,000–5,000 rubles (approximately 11–55 euros).
