Against the backdrop of the fuel crisis, gas stations in several Russian regions have begun to prioritize fuel sales to government officials and employees, according to several regional publications. In addition to this, some gas station networks have limited sales only to emergency vehicles, including ambulances, police, and government vehicles.

Such situations are recorded in the regions of Saratov, Volgograd, Chelyabinsk, Krasnodar, and Ekaterinburg, reports The Moscow Times.

Officially, fuel sales limits have been imposed in 40 regions, but according to The Insider’s calculations, the restrictions have affected 88 out of the 89 regions controlled by Russia, including the occupied territories of Ukraine), writes The Moscow Times. Only in Chukotka there are no restrictions.

In most regions, canister sales have been banned, and each vehicle is limited to being fueled with a volume between 20 and 40 liters of gasoline or at most 80 liters of diesel. Drivers are forced to wait in line for hours on end.
