Almost all imports of live fish and fish products from Armenia have been banned in Russia. The measure was announced by Roselhoznadzor.
According to official information, Russian officials inspected fish processing units in Armenia and visited trout farms during the period of May 21-27, but some enterprises allegedly refused to receive them. According to Meduza, only two companies passed the evaluation and will have permission to sell on the Russian market.
The announcement about the measure was made on the very day when the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, is being honored. Putin has extended his congratulations, and Yerevan and Moscow have announced that the presidents have had a phone discussion.
According to information published by the Kremlin, Pashinyan thanked Putin for his “balanced position, friendly tone, and support given on a number of controversial issues.”
