A Russian businessman has applied for the registration of the trademark “The Spirit of Anchorage”. The application was submitted on July 10 to Rospatent, the agency responsible for protecting intellectual property.
The expression “Spirit of Anchorage” was used by the Kremlin to describe the diplomatic rapprochement between Russia and the United States, following the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska.
If the brand is registered, the entrepreneur will use the name for perfumes, cologne and aromatic products, reports Euronews.
Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump met on August 15, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska. It was their first high-level meeting since the return of the Republican leader to the White House and since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
The Kremlin has repeatedly asserted that the “spirit of Anchorage” should have contributed to the normalization of Russian-American relations and to finding a solution for the war in Ukraine. However, this did not happen.
