Igor Grosu asserts that there are sufficient fuel stocks in the Republic of Moldova, and the situation in some PECO stations, where diesel is temporarily missing or is sold limitedly, should not cause panic. According to the Parliament’s president, the authorities are monitoring the data, and the country has larger fuel stocks than before the war in Ukraine.

The Speaker explained that the problem mainly arises at some petrol station networks that do not directly import fuels and do not have their own storage capacities, according to bani.md. These purchase fuel from companies that import, and when prices or conditions are not favorable, temporary blockages may occur.

“I personally spoke with the director of ANRE, he presented me the data. We now have stocks for 14-15 days, which are larger than before the war. There are networks that did not import, this was their business model. They do not have storage capacities and buy from those who import. Obviously, the one who imports has stocks and also sets a margin,” Grosu declared.

At the same time, the official drew attention to the phenomenon of excessive shopping, when some people try to procure very large quantities of fuel, which can quickly lead to the temporary exhaustion of stocks from a station.

Currently, fuel imports are continuously made, especially from Romania, from where the Republic of Moldova brings most of the petroleum products.
