Igor Grosu urged the inhabitants of the Transnistrian region not to be “lured by the promises of a dictator”. The message was conveyed after Vladimir Putin enacted the law simplifying the granting of Russian citizenship to the inhabitants of the left bank of the Dniester.

The President of the Moldovan Parliament believes that military and electoral interests could be behind the Kremlin’s decision, notes the publication Security Zone.

“They are in a massive people crisis and I address you, our citizens on the left bank of the Dniester: do not be enticed by the promises and lies of a dictator. He has nothing to do with you. He wants to compensate for what he loses on the front”, Grosu declared.

The speaker referred to Putin’s decree as an “electoral move”, in the context of the so-called elections on the left bank of the Dniester.

Previously, Vadim Krasnoselski thanked Vladimir Putin for the signed decree. The so-called administration of the Transnistrian region presented this decision as a “support measure” for the residents of the region.
