The chief advisor to the Iranian leader, Mohsen Rezaee, announced on Monday that the army was preparing to launch an attack on three targets in Ukraine. However, the order was cancelled.
The decision regarding the offensive was made by Tehran following the Ukrainian attack on a commercial ship in the Caspian Sea, reported the state press from Iran.
“We intended to launch an attack on three targets in Ukraine, but we cancelled the attack after Ukraine apologized,” declared Mohsen Rezaee.
On July 25, Iran accused Ukraine of attacking one of its commercial ships in the Caspian Sea. Vladimir Zelenski responded and said that Iran and North Korea have already attacked Ukraine, supplying Russia with weapons, military technologies, and soldiers, reports news.ro. Subsequently, the Ukrainian leader was threatened on platform X.
A discussion followed between the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sîbiha, and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi. The latter was assured that Ukraine wants to avoid escalating the conflict.
