Iran claims to have introduced a new generation of the kamikaze drone Hadid 110 into battle, a weapon it asserts is faster, harder to detect, and capable of penetrating American anti-aircraft defense systems. The announcement comes at a time when the confrontation between Tehran and Washington remains tense, and negotiations to reduce hostilities are still uncertain, according to The Telegraph.

According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the upgraded drone was used for the first time in the last two weeks, being launched against American military bases and ships in the region.

A modernized version of the Hadid 110 drone

The new version of the drone represents an evolution of the Hadid 110 model, already considered one of the most high-performance unmanned systems developed by the Iranian military industry.

Unlike most Iranian attack drones, which use propeller engines and have relatively low speeds, the new model is powered by a jet engine. Iranian sources claim that it can reach over 500 km/h (approximately 316 mph), thus becoming the fastest known drone in the Iranian arsenal.

The launch is carried out with the help of a solid fuel booster, which accelerates the device before the jet engine comes into operation, allowing for the rapid unfolding of operations.
