    The National Army announces that the drone that flew over Moldova on Tuesday afternoon and moved towards Romania has returned to the national airspace. The flying device moved from the direction of Iași towards Cobani, Glodeni, where it disappeared from the radar.

    Subsequently, the drone was seen near Drochia, and at 17:14, radars detected it in the village of Sturzovca near Bălți, where it also disappeared.

    At 17:26, the Moldovan military were informed about the crash of the aircraft in the outskirts of the Mihăilenii Vechi locality in the Rîșcani district.

    Fortunately, no person was harmed. The drone fell into a sunflower field and caused four fire outbreaks.

    The National Army states that the country’s airspace was closed from 16:30 to 17:39.

    During the period mentioned by the military, planes from Hurghada, Tivat, Istanbul, and Tel Aviv were expected to land in Chisinau.

    The Civil Aviation Authority has informed that in the context of the temporary closure of the airspace, three civilian aircraft that were already in flight were kept on hold for approximately 15 minutes, in the Romanian airspace. Then, they were safely guided to land at the Chisinau International Airport.

    A plane has landed in Iași, the decision being made by the captain. According to the information obtained by DisInfo, it is about the aircraft coming from Tel Aviv to Chișinău and was supposed to land in the Capital of the Republic of Moldova at 16:35. Due to the incident with the drone, passengers are expected to reach their destination only around 19:40, and the crew’s return flight will be delayed by three hours.

    Three more aircraft, which were supposed to take off, remained on the ground, specifies the Authority. According to DisInfo information, there are at least five flights that were supposed to take off between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM, but they were delayed. These are the planes to Istanbul, London, Tivat, Vienna, and Tel Aviv.
