Igor Grosu considers Russia’s intention to open 17 polling stations on the left bank of the Dniester to be a defiance for Moldova. The statement was made by the speaker, in discussions with journalists, before the Parliament session on September 3rd.
“Obviously, this is a challenge to the Republic of Moldova. These things were not coordinated with the constitutional authorities. It is a defiant behavior of the Russian Federation and we will treat it as such,” the president of the Parliament declared to the journalists.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chișinău summoned on Thursday, September 3, the approved ambassador of the Russian Federation, Oleg Ozerov, and handed him a protest note in connection with Moscow’s intention to open 16 polling stations on the left bank of the Dniester, for the elections in the State Duma of Russia.
On August 28, the separatist leader from Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselski, made the announcement. The Reintegration Office has deemed the measure illegal.
