The head of the Estonian foreign intelligence services, Kaupo Rosin, stated on Monday that there are no indications that President Vladimir Putin intends to attack the Baltic states or NATO, despite increasingly frequent warnings from European officials that a direct conflict between the West and Russia could erupt in the coming years, reports The Moscow Times.

“We have noticed that Russia has changed its behavior after various incidents that have occurred on a larger scale in the region,” said the Director General of the Estonian Foreign Intelligence Service, Kaupo Rosin, to the public television station ERR. “So far, it is clear that Russia still respects NATO and is currently trying to avoid any open conflict”, he asserts.

Rosin stated that NATO’s coordinated responses to violations of Russian airspace and suspected sabotage actions, including damage to submarine cables in the Baltic Sea, have forced Moscow to act with more caution, leading to a significant decrease in these incidents in recent months.
