North Korea would have obtained foreign revenues of up to 22 billion dollars between 2022 and 2025, largely due to the military alliance with Russia and the war in Ukraine. Kim Jong Un’s regime has turned the huge stocks of ammunition, military production, and even the sending of soldiers to the front into one of the most important sources of currency for Pyongyang, according to a Bloomberg analysis, writes mediafax.ro.

The estimated amount is nearly four times greater than the foreign income earned by the North Korean regime in the previous four years and comes despite the severe international sanctions imposed on Pyongyang.

The main client was Russia, which, after the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, needed huge amounts of ammunition for a war dominated by artillery.

According to estimates from Ukrainian services, North Korea has come to provide approximately half of the ammunition used by Russia on the front, especially artillery shells. Reuters reported this week that Pyongyang has delivered to Moscow millions of projectiles and shells, as well as ballistic missiles, long-range artillery, and multiple launch systems.
