Russia intends to deploy a missile unit composed of North Korean military personnel in the Voronej region. About 90 people will be part of the detachment.
The unit could have up to 120 North Korean ballistic missiles and six launchers for strikes on Ukraine. Ukrainian intelligence services claim that Pyongyang has already sent Russia a new batch of 40 KN-23 and KN-24 missiles, as well as military personnel.
The final number of missiles and personnel is still being negotiated and is expected to be established next month, reports Meduza. According to the head of Ukrainian diplomacy, Andriy Sybiha, North Korean troops and equipment could become a legitimate target if Russia uses them for strikes on Ukraine.
At the end of July, Russia used North Korean ballistic missiles in an attack on Ukraine, for the first time in 12 months. Back then, the strike with such ammunition killed a family in the Krivoi Rog region of Ukraine.
