Russia could launch a nuclear attack on Germany or the United Kingdom within 1-2 years to “punish” Europe, which continues to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression, said Sergey Karaganov, an advisor within the presidential administration of the Kremlin, reports The Moscow Times.

“My choice would be the United Kingdom and Germany,” Karaganov said in an interview given to Tucker Carlson, responding to a question about which countries could be the target of a nuclear attack by the Russian Federation.

“I pray to the Almighty that this does not happen. But Germany must be the first, because Germany is the source of the worst in Europe’s history,” Karaganov said.

The discussions about a possible nuclear attack came after Tucker Carlson asked Karaganov about the consequences for Europe of the killing of Vladimir Putin by “Ukrainians or Europeans”.

“Then, of course, it would mean that we would punish — hopefully not the United States — but Europe would be wiped off the map of humanity. It should be wiped off the geopolitical and geostrategic map, because it represents an annoying obstacle,” Karaganov said.

The Kremlin official clarified that a nuclear attack on Europe could take place within two years if “this senseless war does not stop” and that a nuclear attack would be preceded by conventional weapon strikes.
