Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, has once again accused Kiev of “sabotaging” peace negotiations and promised to continue the war. “These agreements on a diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine, which Russia has been committed to from 2022 until this year, are being sabotaged by the Ukrainian side,” Lavrov said, notes Moscow Times.

According to Lavrov, Russia has no intention of stopping military actions because “Ukraine is not ready for peace”.

“President Putin has repeatedly confirmed that we are unequivocally committed to a negotiated solution. But, since the regime in Kiev is not ready for this, we will pursue the objectives of a special military operation on the ground, which is what is happening now,” he said.

Lavrov further argued that, unlike Europeans, the US “promotes” the idea of “recognizing the realities ‘on the ground'” and surrendering all of Donbas to Russia in order to eliminate the “root causes of the conflict”. Lavrov cited the “presence of a Nazi regime in Kiev” as another such “root cause”.

“The Europeans certainly want to preserve the regime in whatever territory remains of Ukraine, and this regime will continue its hostile, anti-Russian activities. They intend to bring in some kind of stabilizing forces – essentially, occupation troops that will pose a threat to Russia,” the minister said.
