Russia “will not take a break” in the war in Ukraine, asserted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday, at the UN Security Council, a day after Kiev and Washington mentioned an “energy moratorium”.
“We will not pause our special military operation,” declared the Russian Foreign Minister, using the expression employed by the Kremlin to refer to the War in Ukraine, reports AFP, quoted by News.ro. “Europe wants to obtain a pause to arm itself,” he added.
On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski declared himself “ready” for a “moratorium” on attacks against energy facilities, if Moscow does the same.
American President Donald Trump assured again on Tuesday, in a speech at the UN General Assembly, that an agreement between Ukraine and Russia will take place “sooner than we might think”.
