“Let us build Moldova in peace”. The message is conveyed by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, 34 years after the battles for Tighina.
The official visited Varnița, where a commemoration ceremony is taking place for the heroes who fought in 1992 for the integrity of the Republic of Moldova.
“We paid tribute to those who, through love of the Homeland, through patriotism, are a living example for this generation. And we have a message for those who continue to divide and separate the country. Let us decide our fate. Let’s build a united Republic of Moldova in peace,” Chiveri conveyed.
Military personnel, civilian employees of the National Army, and veterans of the Nistru war commemorated on Friday the heroes who fell in the battles on the Varnița-Tighina plateau, reports realitatea.md.
The battles of Tighina are considered one of the most dramatic and painful moments of the war on the Nistru.
