The European Commission is preparing a renewed financial support package for the Republic of Moldova, starting from 2028. The announcement was made by the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, in a video message delivered at Moldova Business Week 2026.

The high-ranking European official mentioned the support of 1.9 billion euros provided by the Growth Plan for Moldova until the end of 2027. Kos, however, did not specify the value of the future assistance package.

“We need to intensify our efforts for the economic future of Moldova. Moldovan producers are gradually gaining access to the opportunities and benefits of our single market. More will follow, step by step, ahead of full accession. At the European Commission, we support through targeted financial assistance. We have prepared a financial package of 1.9 billion euros until the end of 2027. At the same time, we are currently preparing a renewed major financial support package, starting from 2028. This support must attract private investments in key sectors in close cooperation with international financial institutions”, conveyed Marta Kos.

The European Commissioner congratulated Moldova on the pace of reforms related to joining the European Union, reports newsmaker.md. According to Marta Kos, the progress of our country increases investor confidence, and the reforms contribute to a more predictable business environment and legal certainty.

“Moldova has much to offer international investors. You have a strategic position – at the gateway to European markets, skilled people, and sectors with enormous potential: from digital to production and logistics. Whoever invests in Moldova today, invests in a European success story. Let’s roll up our sleeves together. Moldova’s moment is now,” the high-ranking European official further declared.
