Lukashenko threatens Warsaw, Kiev, and Vilnius with Oreshnik missiles. The leader from Minsk insists that this would not be a threat, commenting on statements that Russian systems located on Belarusian territory could become a legitimate target for NATO.
The official suggested, in this context, that the Alliance member states should “not interfere” in Belarus, according to the Belta agency. He also conveyed that his country knows how to respond if Oreshnik systems become a target.
“To prevent Oreshnik from exploding, don’t interfere with us. (…) Consider this a legitimate target. They were outraged. They complained. Now they’ve calmed down a bit. I’m not threatening. Do you think if they consider objects on Belarusian territory as legitimate targets, I will sleep and watch this. We have ways to reach them. Therefore, I would advise them not to shoot their mouths off and keep quiet. If they consider Oreshnik a legitimate target, let them go further,” Lukashenko told journalists.
In this context, Lukashenko revealed that Oreshnik systems also provide for false targets. According to him, out of 10 vehicles that will go on the route, only one can carry missiles. At the same time, he thanked Putin for selling him weaponry.
