Maia Sandu has announced consultations with parliamentary parties for Friday and Saturday. Following the discussions, a candidate for the position of Prime Minister should be designated.

On Friday, the president will meet with the opposition. On Saturday, Maia Sandu will speak with the parliamentary majority – the Party of Action and Solidarity.

Several names of potential prime ministers are being circulated. It’s about the interim head of the Government, Eugeniu Osmochescu. The leader of the socialists’ faction in Parliament, Vlad Bătrîncea, claims that he would be agreed upon by the development partners.

Another candidate is the businessman Vasile Tofan. Before the appointment of the former Prime Minister Munteanu, there was talk of his nomination, but the businessman would have then refused the proposal. This time, he has published on social networks a plan consisting of 12 reforms, which he considers necessary for Moldova.

The third candidate is none other than the leader of the PAS and the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu. The politician has left room for interpretations regarding his nomination, without confirming or denying the rumors in the public space. The opposition insists on his appointment and claims that they would thus want to dismiss him from the position of head of the Legislature.

The potential fourth Prime Minister is Dan Perciun, the current Minister of Education. The official denied that his nomination was discussed, however, the possible candidacy is being discussed on social networks as soon as Alexandru Munteanu resigned.

The most “fresh” possible candidate is the deputy Marcel Spătari. The politician acknowledged that his profile was analyzed by PAS, but did not provide more details about the possible nomination.
