Maia Sandu will speak about European security and global instability. The President of Moldova will participate in the Munich Security Conference from February 13-14.

The event is one of the most important international forums dedicated to security. The leader from Chisinau has planned bilateral meetings with several counterparts and high-ranking officials, during which topics related to the regional situation, cooperation in the field of security and support for the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union, as well as for our country’s efforts to increase resilience, will be addressed.

Maia Sandu will participate in a panel discussion dedicated to preventing and combating hybrid threats, alongside the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, the President of the Federal Intelligence Service of the Federal Republic of Germany, Martin Jäger, and the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.

This year, the Munich Conference will bring together nearly 50 heads of state and government, as well as leaders of major international organizations. Among the high officials who have confirmed their presence are President Ursula von der Leyen, Friedrich Merz, Emmanuel Macron, Donald Tusk, Vladimir Zelensky and Mark Rutte.

The meeting’s agenda also includes discussions on the challenges facing the international order based on rules, European defense, the future of the transatlantic relationship, revitalizing multilateralism, regional conflicts and the security implications of technological progress.
