Ukraine ranks second, after the Republic of Moldova, in terms of implementing the necessary reforms to align with European standards, believes the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos. The statement was made on April 20, during a meeting of the European Parliament.
Kos maintains that Ukraine has implemented approximately 87% of the necessary reforms for European integration. In the case of the Republic of Moldova, it is about 93%, while Serbia has a share of only 30%.
“This progress is made despite the bombings and the fact that the country is fighting for survival,” declared Kos.
The European official also rejected the perception that Ukraine is being treated more harshly than other candidate countries, explaining that a higher level of involvement also generates stricter monitoring, according to ziua.md. According to the commissioner, in the process of European integration, Kiev is forced to manage both economic transformation and the ongoing war.
