In Kyrgyzstan, Daniel Azhiev, the owner of a webcam studio network, was detained just two weeks after being pardoned. This time, the man is accused of possessing drugs.

The substances were allegedly found on him during a vacation. According to the Asian press, Azhiev, 36, was sentenced to nine years in prison, but only served two years of his sentence, and after being pardoned, a helicopter picked him up from jail.

President Sadyr Japarov stated that he was unaware that Azhiev had left the penitentiary by helicopter. According to him, the convict’s mother contacted him and told him about the poverty her family was living in.

“My first thought was that I had been deceived. That day, 75 convicts were pardoned. Then I received information that Azhiev was leaving the prison by helicopter. My first thought was that they had tricked me,” Japarov commented.

Azhiev ran a network of webcam studios with over 300 operators and a monthly income of about $300,000. He led a luxurious lifestyle, posting pictures from expensive resorts and wearing branded clothes. In 2023, he was detained in Uzbekistan while trying to take off for Dubai.
