A drone carrying explosives crashed in the village of Chiștelnița, in Telenești district. It came down 100 meters from a local resident’s home.

Fortunately, no one was hurt. Emergency crews are at the scene, inspecting the area and the equipment that fell to the ground.

Moldova’s Foreign Ministry has announced the expulsion of a staff member of the Russian Embassy. The individual will be declared persona non grata and required to leave the Republic of Moldova.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “the incident constitutes a serious violation of the country’s sovereignty and security and a direct threat to the safety of its citizens.”

“Such actions are unacceptable and once again highlight the risks posed by the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine,” the institution’s press office stated.

According to the Ministry of Defence, two additional violations of the Republic of Moldova’s airspace were officially reported between 16 and 23 October 2026.

On October 16, an unmanned aircraft crashed and exploded outside the village of Codrenii Noi in Dondușeni District.

On October 23 at 1:59 p.m., a drone entered the Republic of Moldova’s airspace without authorization, flying from the direction of Verkhnia Slobidka in the Vinnytsia region toward Frunzeuca in the Camenca district, on the left bank of the Dniester.
