The drone that exploded in Crocmaz was Russian, claims the Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, writes realitatea.md. The official asserts that it is a more advanced model of a propulsion aircraft.
“The case from Crocmaz is a clear one. No one can say it isn’t. It happened. There are witnesses. There are remnants of this explosion, which also caused a fire in the locality. Specialists are in the process of analyzing this object that exploded. From preliminary analyses, it is a Russian drone with propulsion. A more advanced model than all the others that previously landed or exploded on the territory of the Republic of Moldova,” Anatolie Nosatîi told journalists.
On August 9, a drone-missile exploded in the town of Crocmaz, in the Ștefan Vodă district. According to the authorities in Chișinău, Russia is to blame for the incident, as it triggered the war in Ukraine.
On the other hand, the Russian embassy in Chisinau maintains that the accusations would be a pretext to further strain the relationship between the Moldovan government and Moscow.
