Citizens are being called by unknown individuals, who introduce themselves as officers of the Information and Security Service (SIS). They inform the victims about alleged files or checks and ask them for money to solve the problem.

The SISI press service informs that this is about fraud. Individuals may also ask for personal information, invoke checks, and request urgent money transfers. They operate both by phone and through messages or direct meetings.

In context, SIS reiterates that such actions have no connection with the institution and that officers do not ask for bank details over the phone, messages or applications, do not request money, and official interactions “take place exclusively within a legal and transparent framework.”

The population is advised not to respond to such requests if they cannot verify the identity of the persons who put them forward, not to provide bank details and PIN codes, not to transfer money and to urgently notify the Police or the 112 Service, if they are approached by such individuals.
