The European Union intends to request the withdrawal of Russian troops from Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, and Transnistria during negotiations for a peace agreement in Ukraine. The provision appears in a document submitted to the representatives of the member states by Kaja Kallas.

The document is called “Europe’s fundamental interests in ensuring comprehensive, fair, and lasting peace and security on the continent,” according to Radio Free Europe. The project refers to Brussels’ position on the conditions that Moscow should meet to reach an agreement targeting Ukraine.

In addition to the withdrawal of troops from countries neighboring Russia, the EU insists that Moscow pay war reparations, withdraw its troops from occupied Ukrainian territories, legally renounce the recognition of these territories, and cease hybrid attacks against Europe, according to Antena3.

Moreover, the European Union requests free elections, with the participation of international observers, the release of political prisoners, the repatriation of deported citizens, the repeal of the foreign agents law, and the investigation into the deaths of opponents Alexei Navalny and Boris Nemtsov.
