Iran completely closed its airspace on Monday, following the most recent escalation of the conflict with Israel. The flight ban will remain in effect for an indefinite period.

Flights have been cancelled at all Iranian airports, reports Agepres. Tehran has stated that it will no longer launch strikes against Israel, but local authorities continue to express fears that the war between the two countries, which have not directly confronted each other since the armistice in April, could resume.

Iran launched missiles at Israel on Sunday night, and the Israelis retaliated with similar strikes on Monday morning.

The leadership in Tehran broadcasted on the national radio station a statement in which it asserted that the Islamic Republic has provided a “painful response” to support Lebanon, after which it ceased its military operations.
