The United Arab Emirates have restricted flights to a limited number of approved routes at least until May 11 and have activated emergency security protocols, according to notifications to aviators (NOTAM), published by the General Authority for Civil Aviation.

The restrictions were introduced just two days after the United Arab Emirates had lifted all preventive measures regarding airspace and declared it free.

The United Arab Emirates announced on Monday that their air defense systems are repelling Iranian missiles and drones. As a result, several flights have been diverted.

The armistice between the USA and Iran is still in effect, but both sides have declared that they will strike ships trying to break the blockade they have imposed on the Strait of Hormuz, according to hotnews.ro New Iranian missile and drone attacks took place right after earlier on Monday, Dubai Airports, the company that manages the city’s airports in the United Arab Emirates, announced that it is intensifying the pace of its flights and operations after the country’s airspace in the Persian Gulf has become completely free.
