Yandex earned over seven million euros from the Republic of Moldova in a single year, yet the local branch reported zero revenue. The Minister of Infrastructure, Vladimir Bolea, announces that the Government will reexamine the taxi platform’s activity and may take measures, after completing the checks

The official claims that Yandex is already under the surveillance of state institutions, including due to potential security risks, reports tv8.md. The minister also revealed that since last year, the authorities in Chisinau have been analyzing the activities of companies that have ties with the Russian Federation.

“I believe that in 2026 the analysis of the activity of this company, Yandex, on the territory of the Republic of Moldova will continue, and conclusions will be drawn and measures will be taken based on the decisions that will be made at the government level,” said the minister.

Referring to suspicions that the application could collect passengers’ personal data, Vladimir Bolea stated that the Government is awaiting the analysis of the responsible institutions for checks, then it will draw conclusions and make decisions.

At the same time, Vladimir Bolea has provided assurances that companies that could pose certain risks are closely monitored by the power structures, notes the cited source.
