Russian propagandist Nikolai Cihasov, a former journalist who voluntarily enlisted to fight against Ukraine, was killed in Donbas, as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian drone.
His death was announced by Russian propaganda resources themselves, writes Dialog.ua. Cihasov died last fall, but the information only became public now.
According to the cited publication, Nikolai Cihasov died as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian FVP drone. He was in the conflict zone and was dealing with tasks related to countering UAVs. He went to the front in 2022, voluntarily joining the war against Ukraine.
Previously, he worked as a journalist at Lenta.ru, a publication that promotes Kremlin propaganda. On the front, he served in a unit called “Surikatele” and, according to Russian channels, he participated in the development and operation of systems to counter Ukrainian drones.
In the fall of 2024, Cihasov was seriously injured, but managed to recover and returned to the front again.
In May 2025, the founder of the Russian propaganda channel “Sviatoșa Broadcasts”, Dmytro “Sviatoșa”, was killed on the front. According to preliminary information, “Sviatoșa” was associated with the Wagner PMC.
