The Polish authorities announced on Monday that they are opening an investigation into the commission of a “terrorist offense” following a fire that broke out last night at a drone factory in Skarzysko-Kamienna, in the center of the country, reports AFP, quoted by Agerpres.
The security agents of the factory, which belongs to a significant private company, specialized in electronic defense systems, WB Electronics, alerted the firefighters shortly after midnight and the fire was brought under control within two hours, which immediately allowed the deployment of the police and the services of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) at the scene.
According to a statement from the judicial authorities, an investigation has been opened for “participation in activities of a foreign intelligence service against the Republic of Poland and for a terrorist offense, consisting of the deliberate provocation (…) of a fire on the premises of WB Electronics factory, with the help of a charge containing flammable materials.”
The judicial authorities, who have not provided any details regarding the operation, have not specified either the country that ordered the fire at the factory in Skarzysko-Kamienna, 140 km south of Warsaw.
