Poland thwarted a threat to one of its border crossing points with Ukraine overnight. Warsaw authorities expect that customs could continue to be targeted, as Moscow attacks trade routes, trying to economically weaken Kiev.
Donald Tusk made the statement after Russian drones hit the Moldovan-Ukrainian crossing point Starokazacie on Wednesday, reports Antena3.
“Last night, thanks to the cooperation between our services and their Ukrainian counterparts, a direct threat to one of the border crossing points was thwarted. As you know, Russia has already resorted to provocative attacks on border crossing points, for example, in the Republic of Moldova. We expect similar actions targeting border crossing points with Ukraine from other countries, including Poland,” Tusk conveyed.
The Polish Prime Minister stated that he received “a fairly precise report directly from the CIA regarding possible events in the coming months”.
“We must anticipate various scenarios; both Poland and the whole of Europe must be prepared for different possibilities regarding not only the Russo-Ukrainian front, but also along the eastern flank of the EU”, Tusk reported.
In July, the official stated that his country is preparing for various threat scenarios from Russia, writes realitatea.md. Previously, the special services of several countries claimed that the Kremlin might be preparing limited offensives or hybrid actions against some NATO countries, which could include Poland and the Baltic states.
