Poland, the USA, and three other European partners have agreed to establish a maintenance center for the advanced PAC-3 Patriot missiles in Europe.

The Polish Minister of Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, announced the agreement on Tuesday, July 7, during the NATO summit in Ankara.

“We have signed an agreement with the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden for the establishment of a maintenance center for PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems in Europe”, Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote on X.“This will significantly increase capacity and accelerate the production and maintenance of missiles”, he added.

For now, it is not clear where the center will be established. However, Kosiniak-Kamysz previously stated that Poland is among the countries seriously considered for hosting the future PAC-3 missile production center, writes TVP World.

Previously, American officials have conveyed that they do not rule out the production of PAC-3 Patriot missiles outside the United States.

The new center complements European efforts to expand production and maintenance capabilities for Patriot systems, considered among the most advanced anti-aircraft defense systems in the world and used for intercepting ballistic missiles and other aerial threats.
