Poland has thwarted a cyber attack on its nuclear research center. Authorities do not rule out that Iran could be behind this action.
The representatives of the Government in Warsaw announced that the detected indicators could be a deliberate disinformation to hide the true location of the attacks.
The statements were made by the Minister for Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, according to ProTV. The official stated for the private television station TVN24+ that the attack on the National Nuclear Research Center in Poland took place “in the last few days”.
“Perhaps the attack was not on a large scale, but there was an attempt stopped to breach security. The corresponding services are already working. The first identifications of the entry vectors, that is, those places from which the center was attacked, are related to Iran. When there will be final information and the services will verify it, we will also verify it, but there are many indications that it took place from the territory of Iran,” said Gawkowski, adding that the center is safe.
The Iranian Embassy in Warsaw did not comment on the accusations.
