Igor Dodon asserts that within the Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova, there are disagreements regarding the country’s European course. More precisely, some members believe that the administration in Chișinău should accept all the conditions of the EU, while others believe it should also remain friendly with the Russian Federation, following the governance model of Orban.

The leader of the party made this revelation on TVC 21, stating that he has colleagues who would like to see him in prison. At the same time, the deputy declares himself confident that he will not end up behind bars.

“There are some who hope that I will leave, to take control. There are some who hope that they will condemn me and be able to take control of the party, because otherwise they cannot. In our case, in two and a half years there is a reunion and they have no chances in other scenarios,” Dodon said.

The head of the PSRM also reported that, in his opinion, the party needs changes, as it has been in politics for a long time.
