Vladimir Putin has signed legislative changes that allow Russian authorities to ignore rulings in criminal cases made by foreign courts, as well as international ones, according to Sky News.

According to the new changes approved by Putin, Moscow will have the right to ignore rulings made in criminal cases by foreign courts on behalf of other governments.

Thus, any decisions made by international legal entities whose authority is not based on an international agreement with Russia or a resolution of the UN Security Council can be ignored by the authorities in Moscow.

The measure comes as a response to initiatives to prosecute officials, as well as Russian military officers for allegations of war crimes committed on Ukrainian territory, accusations that Moscow denies.
