Russia would negotiate with Kazakhstan the import of approximately 50,000 tons of gasoline. The negotiations are taking place due to the shortage in the domestic market, reports Reuters, citing four industry sources.

Journalists note that the option of supplying Russian oil to a Kazakh refinery for processing is being discussed. Kazakhstan currently has a surplus of gasoline, but the Atyrau refinery will be closed for maintenance from June 26 to July 20, which will reduce reserves.

The most likely scenario is the import from the Kondensat refinery in Kazakhstan, reports The Moscow Times. Deliveries could be made in exchange for aviation kerosene. Kazakhstan faced a shortage of aviation fuel in July, amid rising demand, maintenance work at the Atyrau Oil Refinery, and declining imports.

The closure of several large refineries in Central Russia due to drone attacks has led to a 25% decrease in gasoline production. Production amounts to 85,000 tons per day, while consumption in the summer months reaches 110,000 tons per day.
