In Siberia, military exercises of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) took place, involving mobile “Yars” systems, capable of transporting intercontinental ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads.
According to “Interfax”, quoting the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the exercises, RVSN subunits practiced combat patrolling in new areas, including under “simulated radioactive contamination” conditions, as well as the defense of strategic complexes against saboteurs and “modern means of aerial attack”.
One of the priorities of the exercises was to practice the actions of protection and defense of the mobile ground missile complex (PGRK) “Yars” columns in march and in field positions.
“For the aerial reconnaissance of equipment movement routes, the search and detection of saboteurs, military aviation and various types of UAVs were used,” the Ministry of Defense reported.
Also, for the protection of missile complexes, the soldiers practiced actions to camouflage them, the withdrawal of RVSN crews out of the way of attacks from a fictitious enemy, as well as counteracting aerial targets and warning about the threat of their use “in collaboration with formations and units from the Central Military District”.
