Members of the Republican Party in the US Congress have warned Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other high-ranking officials at the White House about a possible impeachment procedure against President Donald Trump, if he decides to invade Greenland, political sources told Reuters, reports The Moscow Times.
Thus, according to the sources cited, both Republican and Democratic congressmen have suggested to the Trump administration to abandon the idea of conquering Greenland by force.
Congressmen are therefore concerned that Trump could launch a major military operation in Greenland, without first consulting the US Congress.
US President, Donald Trump stated a few days ago that there is “no turning back” regarding Greenland, about whose inhabitants he believes that “they will not put up much resistance”.
