Russia represents a particular danger for the Republic of Moldova, believes reserve Colonel Anatol Caraman. The military man argues that our country does not have enough reservists or the necessary equipment for defense.
The president of the 1992 War Veterans Association “Tiras-Tighina” stated on Realitatea TV that, in his opinion, the government in Chisinau needs to prepare the state for defense. According to Caraman’s estimates, Moldova would need about 50,000 people to protect itself from potential dangers.
“2000 reservists prepared by the Ministry of Defense. 50,000 should have been prepared for defense. Russia represents a particular danger, both militarily and propagandistically. We have not managed to eliminate internal propaganda. We have not managed to remove the influence of Russian espionage on our territory,” declared the reserve colonel.
Anatol Caraman also asserts that the existing equipment, such as the 18 armored vehicles received from Germany, are not sufficient to ensure adequate resistance in the event of a possible threat.
