The editorial board of the publication “Ostorojno, novosti” received a notification from Roskomnadzor, demanding the removal of a post from its Telegram channel, which recounted an article published by Forbes about the difficulties faced by the authorities in blocking online resources.

The article, titled “Server Bypass: Roskomnadzor faces increasing difficulties in blocking internet resources,” was published on March 19. According to a cited source, the institution is no longer able to effectively control the blocks, and the equipment installed in the operators’ networks for traffic filtering is overloaded.

On the same day, the material was also picked up by other publications.

Roskomnadzor has labeled the post as “material aiming to destabilize the socio-political situation in the Russian Federation” and has demanded its removal within 24 hours, threatening to block the publication’s Telegram channel, whose activity is already limited by authorities.

Journalists claim that they requested an official standpoint from the institution, and it rejected the information in the Forbes article – a fact that was also included in the published material. However, the deletion request was not withdrawn.

Ultimately, the publication removed the post, however the original article remains available on the Forbes website.
