Russia has intensified its attacks on American companies operating in Ukraine, according to The New York Times. The publication states that the strikes have targeted several American firms since the summer of 2025, in the context of a broader campaign of bombardments on the economic and industrial infrastructure in Ukraine.

In June 2025, the offices of the American company Boeing in Kiev were damaged as a result of Russian attacks. Two months later, cruise missiles hit a factory belonging to Flex Ltd., a manufacturer of electronic equipment with operations in western Ukraine, hundreds of kilometers from the front line.

According to The New York Times, the attacks continued even into 2026. Over the course of four weeks, targets associated with Bunge, Philip Morris International, and Mondelez International were hit.

The escalation coincides with the intensification of Russian air raids on economic and industrial targets in Ukraine, including assets belonging to European companies.

The article argues that some publicly traded companies have avoided publicly confirming attacks, for fear of investor reactions. Other firms continue to operate on the Russian market, which complicates their public positioning in the context of the war.

According to the publication, the Ukrainian authorities have reported certain incidents, but have avoided insisting on them in order not to accentuate the perception that Ukraine is a risky environment for investments and business.
