Russia is ready not to bomb Ukraine on election day, said the spokesperson for the Russian presidency, Dmitry Peskov. Moscow will not accept a 60-day ceasefire, as requested by Zelensky.

“If Kiev truly wants to organize elections, the Russian president, the commander-in-chief of the army, will be ready to order that Ukraine not be struck on election day, more precisely on the day of the elections,” said Peskov.

In turn, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, said that two months of truce would be requested for the Ukrainians to consolidate their forces and prepare for the continuation of the war.

Vladimir Zelensky has requested a two-month ceasefire for the conduct of elections, after Donald Trump suggested, shortly after the agreement with Putin on fuels, that a change of leadership is needed in Ukraine.
