Canada intends to announce, alongside 10 other states, the creation of a global defense bank. The statement is expected at the NATO Summit in Ankara.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney promotes the Bank for Defence, Security and Resilience (DSRB) within his call to form an alliance of “middle powers” and to combat what he considers to be the “fracturing of the traditional global order, led by the USA”.
The purpose of the DSRB is to strengthen the defense of allied nations, by attracting up to 133 billion dollars. Initially, members will be largely European states, with the exception of Canada, reports Agerpres.
The Canadian Prime Minister believes that countries ready to be named founding members should be mobilized, and then the joining of others will remain open. In addition to European countries, the accession of South Korea to this alliance is not excluded.
