Switzerland refuses to authorize the sale of arms to the USA, due to the war in Iran. The authorities in Bern invoke the country’s neutrality status.

The announcement regarding the suspension of export licenses was made on Friday, according to Agerpres. In addition to the USA, other states involved in military actions are also targeted.

“The export of military material to countries involved in the international armed conflict with Iran cannot be authorized during the conflict. Exports of war material to the USA cannot currently be authorized,” announced the Swiss officials.

According to official data, in 2025 Switzerland exported military material to the United States worth 94.2 million Swiss francs, an annual increase of almost 25%.

The USA ranked second, after Germany, among the importers of Swiss military material – aircraft, ammunition, and light weapons.
