The Kremlin announced on Monday that the peace negotiations scheduled for this week in Geneva will address the “main issues” in the conflict with Ukraine, including territorial matters, reports Reuters.
The Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, specified that Russia intends to put both territorial claims and other previously made requests on the table, according to the agency, quoted by News.ro.
“This time, the idea is to discuss a wider range of issues. The main discussions refer to both territories and all other aspects related to the requests we have made”, Peskov stated.
The discussions, in which delegations from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States will participate, will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Russian delegation will be led by Vladimir Medinsky, an advisor to President Vladimir Putin, and the head of military intelligence services, Igor Kostiukov, will participate in the discussions.
In parallel, a separate working group, coordinated by special envoy Kirill Dmitriev, will address economic issues.
