A court in Paris has rejected the appeal made by Xenia Fedorova to suspend the expulsion order, on Monday, a week after she was accused by French authorities of spreading Moscow’s propaganda “to destabilize public order”, according to France 24 and Politico.
The former head of RT France has been accused of spreading Kremlin propaganda on French television and radio stations, during a time when the country is preparing for next year’s presidential elections.
RT France was banned in 2022, in the context of the war in Ukraine, according to Reuters, but Fedorova remained in France after the station’s closure, becoming a commentator for publications in the media group of conservative billionaire Vincent Bolloré, where she expressed opinions favorable to Russia regarding Ukraine, NATO, and European security.
On July 29, the French Ministry of the Interior announced that an expulsion order had been issued in her name and a decision to freeze her assets in France.
